**** Listed at the bottom are future speakers and upcoming events****

Every Tuesday & Thursday evenings beginning at 7:00PM students can meet in Room 7 on the 3rd floor of the university. This is an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for PETS and TOEFL examinations.
I have volunteered my time (at the request of the students) for this learning opportunity and by the development of a strong committee the evenings and learning environment just gets better. Continuous Improvement.
Get there early as we like to keep the student numbers down below 20 or 30. The one night we had approximately 60 so get their early before the door has to be closed.
Because of such a fantastic Thursday Oct 8 evening class, I have invited Kat (Dell Computers) our guest speaker to return. She has accepted and we look forward to seeing and hearing her next week. She fielded questions regarding:
-Business models
-Strategies
-Customer Service and Satisfaction
-Disaster recovery strategies, how to maintain customers
-Keeping customers (hanging on to customers)
-International trade and logistic & many more good ones.
Think of some more good questions to ask her when she returns again next week.
Next Guest Speaker
I have invited the Air Operations Specialist from TransGlobal Logistics Firm to speak.
Prepare your questions in advance. Be prepared. Keep your time efficient as we have so many who wish to ask questions and speak with only a short time.
Special thank you to the Operations Manager at Dell Computer Company for taking time from his busy schedule to add value to our learning experience. Shi Bei and Xu Kaimei were kind enough to spend Tuesday October 17 helping students prepare for their future at our Xiamen International Exhibition and Conference University. Thank you both for your participation and efforts.

Don't forget, Tuesday October 24 we have the Air Operations Specialist from TransGlobal Logistics Company speaking and participating in our learning experience.

Special Thank You to Wang Chen for taking the time from her busy schedule and spending it with us on Tuesday evening. Wang Chen's career began as a Teacher and after 7 years decided to enter into the logistics industry. Because of her obvious extensive knowledge in both the education and logistics industries the student were able to capitalize on this opportunity to ask so many brilliant questions. Once again, the value these outside professionals add to the learning environment simply could never be found in any text book.
********Our guest speaker next week is Li Bao Xia from Xiamen Seikou Import/Export Trade Company.*********
This firm has a wide range of industrial products used to surface buildings. Stone, ceramic, porcelain and more that can be made to order for custom jobs. Their international market includes many countries in which they both import and export to.
*********Coming next*********
- Tina from a local Design and Manufacturer has accepted an invitation to speak and brighten our learning environment. Her firm first designs gift ware and seasonal products then manufactures them out of poly resins. They are another large employer in Xiamen.
- A logistics expert from Air China will speak to us and explain how they have perfected the movement and transportation of people. How this spring Festival they will move 40 or 50,000,000 people around China.

If you have a friend who works in the outside world, see if they would like to visit our class for an evening. Look and fish around or give them a call.
Spring Festival Trip
There has been some interests from our regulars in our English Corner to spend about 1 or 2 weeks on a short trip during Spring Festival. Possible locations so far are Tibet and (ECB) weather permitting and Beijing. More ideas are coming in. I have asked for some corporate help to share the costs of this trip. I may get the student's bus or train tickets paid and help with hotels. Let me know if you are interested immediately.
