*****EXAMS*****
All of Bob's classes.
Exams will be during the last week of November and first week of December. Check your syllabus or email me or ask me. No make up exams without a good excuse. If you do not write the exam, you will fail. If you fail the class, please sit in the same seat when or if you repeat the term so it is easier for me to remember student's names.

Students who preferred to play table tennis instead of coming to class, see you again next term.
Assignment November/December term 1:
All of Bob's Classes
During the last week of October and first week of November, I handed out to each student a complete agenda explaining in detail the final assignment. This is due Week 17 (week of December 10-16). See SYLABUS . Contact me immediately if you do not have this. This is a major portion of your grade.
National Holiday Assignment
Due first day of classes after holiday (October 9).
I have each student, each day stand before their entire class (all three levels) to show me and the class their ability to speak publicly, to show their pronunciation skill sets. Also gives an opportunity to read their homework assignments, my opportunity to improve their work and our opportunity to experience continuous improvement. I know the stress and anxiety each student goes through. I know the pressure, fear and sweat you are experiencing. I see it and I have been there myself.
I have decided to spin the table (idiom) to flip the coin, payback, reciprocate. CHALLENGE ME. Over your holiday, prepare in proper business format as you regularly do for me, one question you would like to ask me. See if you can make me sweat. Put me under pressure, put me under stress.
Requirement:
- Each student will have two minutes to stand and read their question from their own desk. I will have one minute to answer it.
- Questions must be from any of your local news media sources. Your newspapers. Your TV News Channel. Or your Textbooks.
- Business, economics, global issues, social economics, monetary issues or policies. Any items we discussed in class. No religion, or other topics we do not regularly discuss in class. No teenage girly rock star magazine teen pop stuff.
- Questions on a single paper, in proper business format (as your regular homework assignments are submitted)
- Must be prepared before class begins. Only those students who have prepared this will have the opportunity to make Bob sweat under pressure and experience stress.
Benefits:
- Gives or forces each student to pay more attention to their daily news events.
- Learn my style of handling pressure and stress.
- Each student will learn proper format for asking questions in a public speaking event.
- Gives each student a more comfortable opportunity to speak publicly and not behind the podium but at their own desk. This gives me a better opportunity to evaluate their improvement and identify more opportunities for improvement.
- Gives each student an opportunity to fairly challenge me and my knowledge of daily events either locally or globally. Payback or reciprocation.
Any questions please email me at my email
P.S. (post script) I have read each of your homework assignments for the last week of class. The improvement is remarkably noticeable. Each assignment is in perfect business format. Each is properly addressed, properly introduced, proper body and proper closings. Each is positive and has a unique style. Nice work, keep up the excellent work. Have a great and safe holiday especially if you are traveling to your home towns or provinces.
Assignment 1:
Describe to me why today's oil markets are so volatile. Explain how supply and demand isn't the only factor causing the issues. Use graphs or pictorial aides. |
